The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport, crazy beautiful

With its 1931 body by Zagato, the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport is one of the many gems in the crown jewel collection that was the legendary 6C series, named after the 6-cylinder engine designed by Vittorio Jano and manufactured by the Milan-based company from 1927 to 1950.

The elegance and high quality Zagato could grant are indubitably the outstanding features that made the company’s fortune – for now almost one century since its foundation in 1919 Milan.

And of course they came at a cost: according to one urban legend, a rich Milanese gentleman even sued Zagato for driving his son crazy and inducing him to purchase an Alfa 8C 2300 by Zagato at a “scandalous” price. The judge considered the charge unfounded because “the search for beauty is man’s natural instinct”… even when it leads to a crazy beautiful car.
