The Alba White Truffle International Festival

Until 25 November 2018, the Alba White Truffle International Festival will give everyone the chance to enjoy this fascinating hidden underground fruit.

Truffles are rare delicacies, impossible to farm, and “grow under mysterious vegetable laws that determine their size, color and fragrance”, as Isabel Allende once observed.

In “Aphrodite”, the Chilean writer claims,“Napoleon ate truffles before meeting Josephine in their amorous battles in the imperial bedchamber, in which it is no exaggeration to say, he always wound up defeated” (I. Allende, “Aphrodite”, HarperCollins, New York 1997).

During the Alba festival, everything revolves around “Tuber magnatum Pico” that has made the forests around Langhe Roero and Monferrato famous – but there will also be room for the best food and wine from the area.

Every Saturday and Sunday until November 25 2018
from 9.30am to 7.30pm
Additional opening on 1- 2 November 2018
