At the very heart of Rome, near Via Giulia, chef Giulio Terrinoni has created on Vicolo Malpasso his Per Me, a gourmet restaurant that perfectly embodies his culinary experience and vision. After leaving Aquolina Hostaria, Terrinoni conceived this new concept in 2015 – winning Gambero Rosso’s New Entry award in 2016, one Hat in the 2017 Ristoranti d’Italia selection by Guide dell’Espresso, and finally a prestigious Michelin Star.
The restaurant is a space of rich tactile cues: the dark wood table is set with a minimalist and elegant style – no tablecloth – to focus on food without the distractions of decor’s special effects. “Per me” means “For me” in Italian, and here clients are absolute protagonists of an experience that revolves around recipes designed to enhance excellent ingredients.
Terrinoni’s meat and fish dishes all channel his signature eclecticism. The restaurant’s specialties are its so-called “tappi“: tasting-size portions that are inexpensive and perfect for lunch. Tappi are also a way to taste a variety of dishes in a single journey, delighting your palate.
Start with duck speck with mashed apples and horseradish sauce, try a mille-feuille of savory angel-wings, with marinated anchovies and aromatic mixed salad, or savor original experiments based on Rome’s classic cuisine, such as the “superspaghettone cacio e pepe” with anchovies and orange powder.
