Mario Puppo: imagination on the ski slopes

Mario Puppo (Levanto, 1905-Chiavari, 1970) was one of the 20th century’s most prolific advertisement poster illustrators.

He started to specialize in the field of tourism in the 1930s, producing some of his best work in that decade.

He designed most of his posters – as well as brochures, and advertisements published in various periodicals – for ENIT (Ente Nazionale Industrie Turistiche, currently known in English as the Italian Government Tourist Board) and for the regional authorities connected to it.

Here is a gallery of illustrations on the theme of winter sports in Italy.
