Locanda Rosa Rosae, beauty in time
‘Rosa, rosae’ are the nominative and genitive cases of the Latin word for “rose”. While Latin that has been a dead language for centuries, that ancient word has traveled across time and can still be heard in the name of the most beautiful flower of all.
Locanda Rosa Rosae is located in a 1570 water mill that was about to disappear, when instead it was renovated and brought back to its original charm, with patience and passion, by the two owners of what has become a charming hotel. Deep in Veneto’s green countryside, in the province of Treviso and just a few kilometers from Venice, this rose has bloomed again thanks to a couple of very determined gardeners.
Thus the old building, abandoned for centuries, now seems to have traveled across time to express its ancient beauty, perfectly intact.
