Lamborghini Marzal

The Lamborghini Marzal has transparent doors that open like seagull wings. It is a concept car – a technically “extreme” model created with the sole purpose of designing more marketable vehicles later – by Marcello Gandini (commissioned by Bertone), the Italian designer who created beautiful cars like the Lamborghini Miura and the Lancia Stratos.

Although it was meant to be only a prototype, the Marzal was fully functional: Princess Grace and her husband drove it during the 1967 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco, on the year of its launch.

The name of this “future vehicle”, Marzal, comes from a breed of bulls used in bullfights.

But its wings are those of a soaring seagull.
