Hotel Mezzatorre: a gem in the sapphire blue bay

Hotel Mezzatorre rises on the Ischia Bay, just a few minutes from seaside resorts in Lacco Amerio and Forio. Its mood is original and thrilling, full of jasmine and wild thyme fragrances.
Over the years, a number of celebrities have fallen in love with it. Truman Capote described the location as “oddly enchanted”, and Luchino Visconti was so deeply struck by its beauty that he decided to make “La Colombaia” his home.

Ischia is also one of the world’s most renowned thermal destinations, celebrated even in historical works by Pliny. Sulfurous waters gush directly from an underground sprint into the hotel’s pools, inside the 16th-century tower built by the Crown of Aragon. This is where some of the hotel’s suites are located, with a breathtaking view over the wonderful sapphire blue of the private bay; cottages, meanwhile, are immersed in the quiet nature of a seven-hectare pine forest, which also features a clay tennis court and a heated pool filled with seawater.
The hotel’s guests enjoy the fine menus at two restaurants, La Baia and La Torre – the latter offering a panoramic view over the sea.
Hotel Mezzatorre is owned by the Sciò family, who also owns Il Pellicano in Porto Ercole and La Posta Vecchia in Palo Laziale.
