Bolzano’s Christmas Market is an event as extraordinary as Zelten, the typical Trentino-Alto Adige sweet made with almonds, pine nuts and walnuts, named after the German word ‘selten’, meaning “rare”, “exceptional”, or “unique”.
The booths in Piazza Walther showcase Zelten and a large variety of other local specialties – Stollen, Strudel, fruit bread, jam, milk and dairy products, speck, aromatic herbs, and much more – as well as all the region’s most famous products: wooden and ceramic sculptures made in South Tyrol, hand-carved nativity figurines, Christmas tree decorations…
The whole event is like a gift wrapped in the music of brasses, accordions, harps and horns, filled with the high-pitched voices of marionette shows, and by the laughter of children, elated by the fun rides.
The latest edition of this mesmerizing Christmas Market opened on November 27 and will continue until the Christian Epiphany, January 6, 2015.
We wish you an extraordinary Christmas!
