The Wandré’s BB Framez, a guitar with soul

Chitarra Wandré BB Framez di Antonio Pioli e Fratelli Meazzi - guitar

The BB Framez is one of the legendary guitars created by Wandré, born Antonio Pioli (1926-2004), between the 1950s and 1970s.

In 1957, Wandré had started collaborating with the Meazzi brothers, two talented musical instruments craftsmen in Lombardy. The BB Framez was the fruit of that collaboration. Named after Brigitte Bardot and the first few letters in the Fratelli Meazzi brand, it was one of the avant-garde models in which the brilliant craftsman from Cavriago, in the province of Reggio Emilia, played with his creativity as a decorator, through oil painting, airbrushing, and other techniques – like in the specimen we are portraying here.

Famous Italian singer-songwriter Francesco Guccini once observed one of these “rebel objects endowed with a soul of their own”. He said, “If you make the mistake of taking one of these guitars in your hands, you may lose and never find yourself again.”
