The Apfelhotel Torgglerhof, a hidden treasure between the Alps’ apple orchards
The Apfelhotel Torgglerhof – literally, Apple Hotel – is a hidden treasure nestled in South Tyrol’s Alps.
A few years ago, owner Sepp Pichler took his parents’ farmhouse in Saltusio and transformed the rural structure into a guesthouse with fifteen bedrooms. He also continued to grow apples, carefully tending to the trees scattered over the four hectares of land around the building.
Over time, the small hotel has developed into a larger three-star accommodation: 28 fully-equipped rooms, plus a sauna and swimming pool.
All around, the magnificent rocky crescent of the Sarentine Alps and the Passirio river make this corner of South Tyrol – in the province of Bolzano, just a few minutes by car from the spa resorts in Merano – a charming place, simple out of time.
