Marini Footwear in Rome
The Marini brand was established in Rome in 1899, by a craftsman called Giuseppe Marini, who dedicated his whole life to creating shoes.
“A man cannot make a pair of shoes rightly unless he do it in a devout manner,” said Scottish historian and philosopher Thomas Carlyle. Looking at the products of this Rome-based company, one cannot but agree with the aphorism.
Giuseppe later opened a “School for footwear craftsmen”, and his son and grandson went on to manage the store after his death. Over the decades, the passion and skills of Marini’s craftsmen have gained recognition all over the world.
Their shoes are a form of art that has won over an illustrious clientele, including Marcello Mastroianni, Gianni Agnelli, Gregory Peck, Anna Magnani, Robert De Niro and Sergio Leone.
A shared devotion.
