Fikus: slow living
Apulia offers breathtaking views, the sound of the wind blowing in the trees and long breaks in the shade of the olive groves: life flows slowly in Ceglie Messapica, in the Itria Valley. This is where Luisa and Francesco founded Fikus, a unique place that is as welcoming as a hug from your family when you go back home.
Luisa was born in Molfetta and Francesco in Altamura, but they met in Brussels – and decided to give up their international lifestyle to pursue a dream: transforming typical ‘trulli’ into tourist accommodation, where anyone can live a little slower. Sleep in or go for a run at the break of dawn, take part in poetry readings or listen to Lucio Dalla or Johnny Cash, have fun in the lively company of people from all over the world… or simply enjoy the perfumes of the quiet Apulian nights, tasting typical dishes in the privacy of your patio.
