Fabrizio Talia’s frames
Fabrizio Talia, fashion designer and creator of the (es)*Artisanal brand, produces frames that are essential objects, not just a fringe benefit. As the great art critic Roberto Longhi once said, indeed: “the most essential part of a painting is the frame.”
The history of devices meant to limit and isolate the field of artistic representation started in the 14th century, when carvers and gilders built frames that enclosed artwork, and which often became works of art themselves.
That is exactly what happens to Fabrizio Talia’s artifacts. His beautiful frames are the result of his research efforts and skillful craft in assembling pieces from antique frames. After all, he has always had a passion for collage.
A graduate of Rome’s Accademia Koefia, in 2002 Talia won the International Talent Support award and started working for Dior, John Galliano, Cavalli, Moschino, Dolce e Gabbana.
Launching the (es)*Artisanal brand is his latest masterpiece. A new frame for creativity.
