Eremito: the ultimate luxury of relaxation
Imagine turning off your phone, computer, television and every other technological device, so you can focus on meditation and relaxation, immersed in pristine nature.
Sound like a dream? It’s reality at Eremito – an eco-luxury residence in the province of Terni, inspired by the concept of hermitage. Here, in peace and quiet, you can stay in an early-14th-century structure that has been recently restored according to modern bio-architecture standards.
Eremito is based on a concept by Marcello Murzilli, who created the El Charro apparel brand in the 1980s. After spending years on the Pacific coast of Mexico, where he had opened the Hotelito Desconocido eco-resort, in 2013 Murzilli decided to return to Italy and to bring a new type of luxury tourism – all about digital detox – to this untouched valley in Umbria.
Guests of Eremito sleep in “celluzze”, rooms dug out from stone, equipped with only the essentials, including double beds with hand-embroidered canvas sheets. All rooms are well insulated so the temperature is pleasant even in the summer, while underfloor heating connected to a central wood boiler warms them up in the winter.
Time passes between vegetarian and vegan meals prepared with in-season organic ingredients, served in the lovely Refectory – where everyone is required to eat in silence, in the warm glow of the fireplace.
Taste a “Melemito” – Eremito’s signature infusion – in the Relax Area, meditate in the Yoga Room or take a steam bath and try chromotherapy in a whirlpool tub. In this new-generation hermitage, everything is designed to be essential and moderate. For travelers who consider time for themselves and regaining control over their day to be the ultimate luxury.
