Castello di Scerpena, medieval luxury

The Castello di Scerpena, in the province of Grosseto, is a 13th-century gem set between the hills of the Albegna and Flora rivers, which flow in the shade of Mount Amiata, between chestnut groves and cork forests.

Passed along from family to family – Aldobrandeschi, Senesi, Baschi, Orsini di Pitigliano – and then from Siena to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, the castle has been renovated many times and now enjoys the life of a luxury manor house, surrounded by 7,000 olive trees, a beautiful garden, a park, and a swimming pool.

From the Middle Ages to this day, throughout its transformations, it has remained a wonderfully elegant abode.
